MANCAT MONDAY: DYLAN'S GREAT JOURNEY

Once again, Dylan goes forth and does his mancatly duty.  This time he even goes as far as the road and attempts to go further, but is stopped cold by the prospect of wet feet.  However, the trek continues on foot and in the air.

Take a look.  The pictures tell their own story.

What lies beyond the banks of snow at the edge of the road?

I'm gonna take a "look see"!

Through the Arctic tundra (aka, our driveway), Dylan marches, intent on reaching his destination.

Aha!  All I see is more snow and more slush.  There's nowhere to go.

Oooh!  One of my foots is gettin' wet!  Maybe there's something more interesting back at home base.

The intrepid Dylan realizes the impossibility of his mission and returns home in defeat.  But at least "defeet" aren't totally soaking wet -- yet.

Ah!  Dry land again.  It's been a long journey, but one well worth taking -- just to satisfy curiosity, if nothing else.

Have you ever seen a look that has more PURRPUSS?

Back on the safety of the nice dry porch, Dylan surveys the rest of his domain.

Then suddenly he leaps!  It certainly is quite the leap year for Dylan and it's still only January!
(Note:  This is not the same picture that was posted on Saturday, January 16th.  If you take a look back, you can see that Dylan is jumping in the opposite direction.)

Dylan's settled on the cat bench.  He's taken catmouflage behind the bush!  All the better to snoopervise.

And as we leave, here's one final close-up of the brave and mancatly Dylan.  You can see that he is PURRpetually vigilant, as a mancat must be.  He's just biding his time.

A mancat goes on even when faced with defeat.  He knows that his job is never done and he will try again when the time (and the weather) is right!

A smart mancat knows his limits. And Dylan certainly does. And a great jumper too (but we already knew that, of course).

What an amazing leap! You certainly are athletic! Maybe you can get your mama to get you some snow boots; mine did but she thinks they are hers!

You did well to explore the frozen tundra. Come rain, hail or snow, things still have to be checked out. We hope your toesies soon thawed out.
