3-D MANCAT MONDAY: WAR AND PEACE

It seems that mancats, especially, have the need to wrestle.  It's not that ladycats never engage in such behaviour, but in my experience, you will see two mancats go at it more often.  I think it's their way of establishing who is dominant.  The ladycat doesn't need to bother, because she already knows she's boss.

Dante and Dylan are no different.  Although they are best friends and buds, there are those times where war breaks out between them.  It appears that Dante is always the victor in these confrontations, as these pictures will attest.

PART I:  WAR

Note that Dante is in the dominant position, and Dylan in the submissive.

Dylan makes a defensive move, but still from a subordinate position.  The look on Dante's face is quite determined.

Here, Dante controls the situation just by the look in his eyes.  It's a staredown!

Dylan keeps a very submissive posture in the glare of Dante's gaze.

And lowers his head to King Dante.

Dylan shrinks further and further away ...

... until he concedes defeat and slinks off.  The war, for now, is over.

PART II:  PEACE

Most of the time, Dante and Dylan live a peaceful co-existence.

They each do their own thing, but they like to be near each other.

Oops!  Maybe Dylan got a little too close, there.  Those tailwinds can be disconcerting.

Sometimes, the mancats co-operate in checking things out.

And checking each other out.

It's nice to have a sidekick!

Someone who makes you feel comfortable.

And sometimes, gives you a little kiss.

We leave you now on a peaceful note with our mancats blissfully reunited.  Without a little war, now and then, how would we even know the real significance of peace?

It's true about mancats and ladycats. :-)

The boys will wrassle in play, for the most part, but sometimes get aggressive. I used to think that Derry lying on his tummy meant submission, but I've read several times in recent months that it's not submission at all, they get on their back so they have all sets of claws available for attack. Makes sense, though I would have thought exposing the underbelly would be dangerous.

Annie, of course, is another matter entirely. 8GR8 is right: females don't forget the spats and there's no peace. LOL. At least not with Ms. Crabby Annie!

Sure glad they came to an agreement. It is funny how male kitties and young kitties can forgive and forget so quickly. At least they do around here. You two sure are handsome guys that is for sure.
Hope you have a good day.

Wow, it is definitely obvious who is Top Cat with these two! But except for the occasional wrassling session, Dylan seems pretty comfortable playing Robin to Dante's Batman.
