A MANCAT AND HIS MATE: DYLAN AND HALLE

Dylan and his beautiful girlfriend Halle (of Jacqueline's Cat House) have hit a milestone in their relationship.  They just had their six-month anniFURsary!

They took a moment to look back on their love story.
(Thanks to Ann of Zoolatry for the graphic

After meeting her online, and chatting on the phone, Dylan just couldn't get Halle out of his mind.

And Halle just couldn't stop thinking about her handsome suitor.

When they met for the first time in PURRson, it was love at FURst sight!

And then they kissed!  It was magical.

When Dylan returned home, Halle sent him this message of love.

And Dylan shouted out his love for Halle for all the world to hear!

Dylan and Halle dated steadily, despite the distance between them.  Dylan would fly down to Lousiana on a moment's notice (of course boogie mats come in handy for that)!

Here are some of the more special occasions.

There was Mardi Gras in February.

Truffle's Birthday Debutante Ball in June.

And most recently ....

... they had an excursion to the Olympics in London!  They each rooted for their home countries' teams, but still cheered for each others'.

There have been many special, quiet moments together in-between, and we wish them many, many more in the days, weeks and years ahead!   Love is a very PURRecious thing.

TUXY TUESDAY WITH DOMINO: OLYMPIX

Domino spent all last week in England with her boyfuriend Milo.  They attended the London Olympics for certain events, and took some time away for romantic sidetrips.  These are the pictures that were taken of their marvelous adventures (with the help of kind strangers).

Here are Milo and Domino rooting for their respective country's athletes.  They attended many of the venues but liked the Track and Field events the best.

One afternoon they spent at the seaside.  Milo's just mad about snorkelling -- and he even caught a fish -- and found a real pearl inside an oyster for Domino.

Another afternoon they had a picnic in the country.  Domino is wearing her new dress -- the one she most recently modelled (see last Fashion Friday post).  Don't they look like the happy couple?

And finally, they attended the Closing Ceremonies.  Milo had presented Domino with a pair of 'Hello Kitty' ear muffs so that the exploding fireworks wouldn't hurt her ears.  Little did he know that Dommy had purchased a pair in blue for him.  Why are you looking so sheepish Milo?  Huh?  (I think Milo would rather say 'Bye Bye Kitty' to his set of muffs.)

Anyway, these two LOVE MUFFins had a marvelous time together at the London Olympics and exploring the English coast and countryside.  It's a time they'll never forget.  How could they with these pictures to remind them?

MANCAT MONDAY WITH DYLAN AND DANTE: THE INSIDE STORY

Recently, I actually took some pictures of my mancats inside the house.  This is a relatively rare occurrence since at least 95% of the time I'm shooting outdoors, and this is because I prefer the natural light.  Well, on this particular day there was plenty of said light inside our two-story family room.  The high windows afford such a luxury on days when there is no rain.

So here are Dylan and Dante, each doing some of their favourite indoor CATivities.

Dylan just LOVES his scratcher!  For his birthday, we stocked up on them, so he never needs to go without -- and believe me, we wouldn't want him to.  He will scratch any surface, including furniture otherwise.

This leads me to one of my PET peeves (pun intended).  No, it's not Dylan scratching -- it's the scratchers themselves.  It seems everything is sized for the smaller cat these days.  If Dylan barely fits -- because of course kitties like to lie down on these things -- Dante virtually overwhelms the thing.  Too bad I didn't have a picture of it, but if Dante lies down on this scratcher, you can't even see it anymore.  He spills over all sides of the thing.  Anyway, enough peeving.

Dylan is happy just hugging his scratcher.  He has brought along one of his best friends (the plague ratsie) for a group hug.

It's obvious that scratchers are for more than just scratching!

There are so many different ways you can lie down on them!

When you get really tired, they're a good place to rest your head.

Dylan is already ahead of the game, don't you think?  He'll be nodding off any minute now.

And as Dylan is drifting off to sleep, we find Dante on top of the cat tree.  It is positioned so that cats have more than one vantagepoint from which to spy from the safety of their own home.

It makes it so easy to keep an eye on your proPURRty.

It seems spying can be very taxing, though.  Dante is all tuckered out!

Good thing the cat tree has nice comfy carpet, just purrfect for curling up to take a nap.  If Dante didn't curl up -- at least a little -- he wouldn't just hang over the edge, he'd be falling right off.  Once again those in the pet industry just don't make Dante-sized cat products!  They should learn that cats come in all different sizes -- not just kitten size.  Purrhaps Dante and I should start a PETition!

Dante's pajamas are all rumpled and you can clearly see the tufts in his big back feet.  Dante is one big tuft today, or so  it seems!

Sometimes it's just to TUFT to tell!

Have a great Mancat Monday efurryone -- enjoying some of YOUR faFURite CATivities!

FASHION FRIDAY WITH DOMINO: FROCKIN' IT AL FRESCO!

Domino has a brand new summer frock and she can hardly wait to model it for efurryone.

Here she is on the garden bench with a pretty bloom in her hair, freshly plucked from one of the pots.

Domino looks so dreamy in her sky blue dress with pink roses, buttons and lace.

Then Domino has quite an eary feeling.  "Uh-oh!"  she exclaims.   "Buzz off and jus' leave me bee, willya?"

Disaster averted Domino quickly resumes her modelling stance.  What a PURRo!

 "I feels so pritty!"

"An my noo dress matches my troo luvs eyes!  Da bloo pawt -- not da wed."

At that Domino turns her face skyward.  She's sending Milo some vibes.  Hopefully, he'll hear her and come over right quick.

In the meantime -- back to the dress at paw. The cut is quite fashion forward with a large collar, and short ruffled skirt.  It's very figure flattering, don't you think?

Domino lies down to better show off the back of the dress with it's large white buttons at the neck.

Now for a change of venue --  Domino thought a pose or two in the grass would be fitting.  She has such good instincts about these things.  But just then the wind blew up the back of her dress!

"Wardrobe malfunkshun!"  shouts Domino as her assistant rushes in to fix this em-BARE-ASS-ment.

"Ah!  Dat's much bettah!"

Domino lies down in the grass.  This stretch cotton dress is quite casual and is purrfect for relaxing outdoors, or ...

... "Even  fur goin' out on a date!" says Domino.  "Ware is dat boy anyway?"

Finally, Domino is all fed up -- or she'd like to be 'cause she's getting rather hungry.  Her yawn indicates the photoshoot has come to an end.

And just in time, too -- because here comes Milo with the pickynick basket!  It's such a lovely day outside for these two to relax and 'wined' down together.  "Dere's nuttin' kwite like FUResh air, good food an' dou! 'Cept maybe fur a bran' noo dwess acourse."

WORLD CAT DAY: 3-Ds and FURIENDS

Today is World Cat Day and while we celebrate every cat on earth, we are also focusing on those who are nearest and dearest.  So I have chosen some of my favourite pictures of the kitties in my life.  And since I've gone mad for avatars, I've included those as well.

Here is Lacocoon Dante -- my own PURRsonal lion.  He is a very gentle lion, though, with a rather laidback PURRSonality.  He allows me to dress him up, and will quite comfortably wear the outfit around all day without complaint.  Dante loves to give and receive kisses and is quite sociable.  He also loves dogs and will even lie down and expose his belly as an invitation to play.

Dante in full coat is a sight to behold!

Dylan is rather high-strung.  He seems always to be on alert.  Any sudden noise alarms him, although he loves the quiet purr of my massager aka "ThumPURR".  He will come running when he hears me using it and jumps up beside me begging to be thumped.  The silly boy even likes to have his head thumped, though I fear it will rattle his brains even more.  Dylan is a sweet-natured goof.

Dylan is so very creamy and plush!  Plushious, I call him.

Domino is a natural beauty and her modelling abilities are renowned.  She also has one of the feistiest temPURRaments I've ever seen in a cat.  While she can be very loving and affectionate, she can also turn in a moment and give you a swipe if she thinks you deserve it.  She rules her brothers with an iron claw.  Although she tolerates dogs quite well, she will do the same with them if they invade her PURRSonal space too closely.  There are rules to having an audience with the Queen, after all!

Domino is the PURRfect model whether in a fashionable frock or 'au naturel'!

MY GRANDCATS

Sox is a handsome 4-year old long-haired brown tabby with white feet.  While he can be more aloof, he has his cuddly moments and likes to sleep with his Daddy at night.  He's a bit of a clown and likes to arrange himself in odd positions.  He is quick as lightening and sees an open door as an invitation.  He also likes heights and will scale them at his own peril, balancing on very narrow second story windowsills, for example.   While babysitting him at my house, he has fallen from on high more than once, but always makes a quick recovery.  It certainly doesn't stop him from doing the same thing again.

I call him 'Foxy Soxy' because he is rather -- isn't he?

Missy is a 4-year old female brown tabby with white.  She and Sox were adopted together as tiny kittens.  Missy has a bit of a weight problem, but she doesn't let it stop her from doing anything.  She still gets plenty of exercise running around after her brother.  She is extremely affectionate and will demand your attention when she wants it.  Missy is very loving when at her own house, but when I babysit her at mine, we affectionately call her 'Hissy' because that is what she does to everyone -- feline and human, alike!  Domino just tends to ignore her, but Missy tries to dominate everyone else.  Returned to her own home, she becomes laidback and friendly once again.

Missy says "Yes to the ESS"!  It's her favourite place to relax.

This post would not be complete without wishing a Happy Birthday to my favourite Crazy Cat Lady -- Carm!  I think it's no coincidence that her birthday and World Cat Day are one and the same.

Carm has had some real trials and tribulations this year battling Multiple Myeloma.  Please go and gives her your best wishes on this special day.

And so, in closing -- from all of us to all of you, Happy World Cat Day!  And thanks to the Cat Blogosphere for bringing us all together.
