MANCAT MONDAY: DYLAN TAKES THE FOURFRONT

Today we have Dylan in the FOURfront in four -- count 'em -- four frames, with Dante as mere background.  Now, it's not often that one would call Dante "mere", but in this case he serves as a colourful backdrop for Dylan's quirky mancatliness.

Dante is at the foot of the tree watching (what else?) squirrels.  Dylan then takes a speCATor seat under the deck bench.

I couldn't help but notice the opportunity for some great shots under the bench, framed by the seat and the deck floor.  Dylan does this wide-eyed look of innocence, just for the camera.  And Dante adds such a nice juxtaposition of colour, don't you think?

Dylan relaxes a little more in this one, while Dante's still a study in still life.

And then something catches their attention giving me a small window to capture these profiles in unison!

So, in the end, it's all FOUR one and one FOUR all -- and that's how it should be, anyway.

EASY ON SUNDAY WITH DOMINO AND DANTE: LURKING GOOD!

It's Sunday, and both Domino and Dante are outside in the back yard taking it easy.

Domino has nestled herself under the tree ...

... when along comes Dante, to see what he can see!
"Seddle down, bustah!  I'm tryin' to watch skwirrels heer", snaps Domino.

"Well, I doan see anyfing", says Dante.  "Which way did it go?"

"Yoo hasta keep yoor eyes peeled, dummeh!", retorts Domino.  "Yoo look to da rite whilst I looks da uddah way."

Then a sudden noise caught their attention ...

... and at just that moment, the squirrel on the fence makes it's move!

"Geez, dey mus' be workin' in pairs!", says Dante.  "Wun of dem makes a distracshun wile de udder wun strikes."
"So it wood appear", says Domino.

"Even if nuttin' happens", says Dante, "is jus' fun LURKIN' wif yoo, Sis!"
"Ya, heer's LURKIN' at yoo, kid", replies Domino.

Who would have thought that these two could ever be LURK-alikes?

Once again, the squirrels are masters of misdirection.  "Tee hee hee!", giggles the one on the fence.  But Dante and Domino don't really care.  What's more important is that they have spent this precious time together.

"Better LURK, next time!", shouts the squirrel in the tree.

TUXY TUESDAY WITH DOMINO AND DADDY!

Finally, the hot weather has subsided and Domino can now enjoy the outdoors again.  High temPURRatures are especially cruel to tuxy black coats.

"Ahhhh!  Dere's efun a lofurly cool breeze!", sighs Domino.

"I fink I'll lie down an' has a liddle nap."

Daddy chooses just this moment to water the flowers and rouses the little sleeping beauty.

"Are you up to being scratched?", asks Daddy.

"Acourse!" says Domino in delight.  "Jus' move a liddle furdah ...

... to da back!  Ah!  Dat's it -- yoo found da spot."

And then inexplicably, Daddy picks Domino up!  She doesn't mind the over-the-shoulder position ...

... but soon grows weary of being held PURRisoner against her will.

"Lemme down, willya?", Domino pleads.

But alas that is not yet meant to be!  The real culPURRit is Mama who has enlisted Daddy as an accomplice   in her nefarious furtographic PURRsuits.  A struggle ensues.

"Oh Domino, you look so cute!", exclaims Mama.

And every new position just caused Mama to say "Oh, that's a good one!"

So, Domino -- smart little cookie that she is -- just stayed absolutely still.
And that, as they say -- was the end of that!

Pee Ess:  Domino's belly and leg fur is finally starting to grow back in.  She has been over-grooming relentlessly.  We think the Feliway diffuser is having the desired effect.

MANCAT MONDAY WITH DYLAN AND DANTE: "EYE SPY"!

The mancats are in the front garden PURRusing the general vicinity for any PAWSible threats.  Since there's not much going on at the moment they are playing "Eye Spy".  It allows them to kill two birds with one stone (that takes care of lunch, too) by keeping themselves entertained and maintaining a lookout at the same time.

"Eye Spies wif my liddle eyes ...

... a CHIPPY!!!"

"Eye spies wif my liddle eyes ...

... a CATahpillah!!!

As much as Dante and Dylan have kept their eyes peeled, they have both overlooked what has been there all along.  This insidious intruder is very well camouflaged indeed!

"O noes!", exclaims Dylan.
"SPYrea!!!"

TUXY TUESDAY WITH DOMINO: SELF DEFENCE!

Domino is a mistress of 'self-defence'.   The best way to defend herself against the unwelcome advances of her brother, Dylan, is to put herself on de fence.

It's not that Dylan could not follow her, but it gives Domino a HEAD start as well as an easy escape route.

Domino is so much lighter on her feet and quicker than Dylan, who has only attained his beige belt in defencive tactics.

Domino, on the other paw, sports her black belt very proudly.

The other advantage of a defencive cattitude is that she can see what's happening both near and far.   And once the coast is clear ...

... Domino exits stage left.  "Sayanara suckah!, says she.

TUXY TUESDAY WITH DOMINO: IN THE CROSSHAIRS

It's Tuesday and Domino is sitting in her chair on the front porch again.

"Are you in the mood for a little photoshoot, Domino?"

"Duz I haff any choice?", she asks.

Domino's obviously in some kind of funky mood, but hey -- it makes for great pictures, so I'm not going to argue.

"Jus' remembah -- I noes ware yoo lives!" threatens Domino as I'm winding up.

Believe me, she's not someone you'd want to cross when she's cross!  Her cross hairs are deadly accurate.

"Beat it, or yoo're HISStory!", she declares.  So I did.  Beat it, that is.  If you know what's good for you, you will, too!
