MANCAT MONDAY WITH DANTE AND DYLAN: FOILED AGAIN

Dante and Dylan are brothers and Dante is the older of the two by a couple of years, making him a little more laidback and wiser in his ways.
Earlier today, Dante was just lounging under the maple bush in the front yard ...

When along came Dylan to shake him out of his reverie!

"Reely bro!", says Dylan.  "How kin yoo just lie dere wen dere's skwirrels to be chased?"

"Speekin' of da devil, dere's wun of da liddle jerks, now!"

Out of loyalty to his brother, Dante goes along to inspect the situation.

But it wasn't long before Dante decided it was just wasn’t his cup of tea anymore...

... and basically benched himself.  "As fah as I'm concerned", says Dante "dis is a spectatah sport!"

Just then a little black beast sprints past Dylan at top speed – taunting him!

You'll have to biggify this picture to see the squirrel.  Dylan is in attack mode and Dante knows from experience that Dylan's not likely to succeed -- but it sure is fun to watch!

When the slippery little sucker disappears up the tree, Dylan tries shaking it down, but to no avail.  The squirrel has already planned an escape route through the tops of the trees.

Dylan just can't believe his bad luck!

And then he does something he really doesn't like to do -- admit his defeat!

"I gives up!" he exclaims in frustration.

The lesson that Dylan has to learn is that it's the thrill of the chase that provides the most excitement. Actually catching the little beast would spoil the fun -- something Dante already knows full well!

TUXY TUESDAY WITH DOMINO: RED, WHITE AND BLUE

Domino is still not over the excitement of the Royal Wedding.  She was actually there, in a street party, outside the Abbey, with Milo, and Alfie and Lola.  Milo had asked Domino to wear something red, white and blue like the colours in the Union Jack, so Dommy ordered this little frock just for the occasion.

And here she is in a summery little number, with a two-tiered skirt.

As you can see, the blue skirt and white top are outlined in bright red.  It's a standout!

The skirt fans out prettily against Domino's smiling face.

Here's a close-up of the back of the dress, with its "Love n Peace" logo.  It really fits in well with the feel of this occasion which has generated so much good will.

Dommy stands at attention, like they did, when "God Save the Queen" was playing.

And even though Dommy is a true catriotic Canadian, she knows this dress can double for July 4th celebrations.  Besides, "Love n Peace" are appropriate anytime!

And, as Domino saunters off at the tail end of the photoshoot, she has one thing to say.

"Ovah an' Out!"

MANCAT MONDAY WITH DYLAN: TRYING TO FOCUS

Dylan's been out in front, checking things out as usual.  I chose this opportunity to zoom in on him for some close-ups.  I thought he'd make a great focal point!

However, while I was focussing on Dylan, Dylan was focussing on something else entirely ...

... and the birdie had his attentions elsewhere, too!

So even though I did the best I could, everything was out of focus.  Must be because it's Monday -- when mancats' dreams turn to fresh meat.  It's hard to compete with that!

HAPPY EASTER & HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY MILO!

Domino just wants to take a moment to wish all of you a Happy Easter while posing in her Easter basket (her basket chair performs double duty here).

Domino is due to take off any minute on her boogie mat to see her true love, Milo.

And there she goes ...

You see, he is celebrating his third birthday today at home in England, and of course, he wanted Domino to be his special guest.

Once Domino arrives, she and Milo are going to sneak off for a PURRivate little rendez-vous!  It's a good thing the bushes are blooming in England.

And then ...

Let the party begin!

Please stop by Milo's bloggie to wish him a Happy Birthday!  We're sure he'd love to see you.

TUXY TUESDAY WITH DOMINO: THE LION'S SHARE!

The weather has finally taken a turn for the better, so the whole family was out on the front porch enjoying the day.  Domino was sitting in her purrsonal chair, just checking out what was going on in the general vicinity.

"Mai brofur Dylan is unner mai chair", says Domino.

"He is a twoll, an' dat's ware twolls belong -- unner fings!  I'm wif Charlie Sheen on dis wun."

Then Daddy comes along, and Domino wants to snoopervise, but doesn't exactly know what he is doing.

And then she looks back in horror!

Daddy's putting away the dried branches that were used as winter decor.  But worst of all -- DANTE USURPED HER CHAIR!

So, Domino tries to reason with him.  She doesn't like to resort to violence as a primary course of action.

Just then, Mama speaks up and says to Domino "You really must learn to share, my dear!"

And then Mama dangles one of the branches at her like she's a fool or something!

We won't show you what happened in between (because it isn't pretty), but needless to say, Domino is back on her chair where she belongs.  "Mai share is 100 purr cent", says she.  And that's the way it's gonna stay!

This is the suburbs -- not the jungle, and Tuxy trumps Lion any day of the week!

MANCAT MONDAY WITH DYLAN: OUTBACK BEHAVIOUR

Dylan's in the "Outback" today, aka the back yard.  He is exploring the wild uncharted territory near the fence.  You see, his blood sister lives next door, on the other side of that fence, and every now and then he gets a whiff of her -- and maybe even a brief glance through the spaces between slats.

Although Dylan would give anything to actually meet his sister again, Buttons just won't have it.  Apparently she's scared silly of her bro, and will shake uncontrollably at the mere sight of him through the glass patio door.  So, this is an undercover picture we took of Buttons last year, from a distance, using the Zoom lens.

She's gotten a little chunky in recent years.  I guess it runs in the furmily!  Notwithstanding (because she's sort of sitting, actually), Buttons is a beautiful colorpoint shorthair with peachy-coloured points and bright blue eyes -- a testament to some Siamese blood along the way.

However, I digress.  This post is sup-post to be all about Dylan.  So to wrap things up, here are some close-up portraits of the dear boy.  You will note he is constantly on alert when he's in the outback.  No sound or movement goes undetected.  His ears are always a-twitchin'!

So now we've established that Dylan is a nosy neighPURR, a scarer of sisters and a scaredy-cat himself, and that, as they say -- is that!  At least for today.
