3-D DAD UPDATE

First of all, Walter and I -- and the 3-D's, of course -- would like to thank you for all your heartfelt purrs, prayers and get-well wishes.  It seems more than a few of you have had some experience with this painful condition, and your empathy comes through.

Well, it seems like your collective purrs are working because Dada is indeed improving!   He is still in the hospital, but was allowed liquids by mouth for the first time yesterday.  His first taste was prune juice for it's well-known effects, but he had chicken broth for lunch and vegetable broth for supper as well as some lemon jello.  Yum!

I imagine he won't be discharged until he has consumed and tolerated some solid food, but we're hoping against hope that he may be home for the weekend.

They still have him doped up on painkillers, but are gradually decreasing the dose.

Once again, thank you for your overwhelming response to this call for purrs.  It made Walter very happy (as happy as he could possibly be in his drugged state) when I told him his post garnered the most comments ever on the 3-D blog.

I'll let you all know when he's home.

It's great to see an update, Wendy, thanks for taking the time to keep us all in the loop. Continued purrs and purrayers, we certainly hope he's home for the weekend! (Though if you get the same storm we're getting, the roads might be tricky. If you're out on them, please take your time and stay safe!)

We are so pleased to hear that he is getting better a little at a time. We hope he will be home with you all for the weekend. Home cooked food and lots of purr therapy will make his recovery much quicker.
We send you both our best wishes and purrs.

We are glad he is feeling better, but don't rush getting home. A relapse would not be good.
