3-D AUTUMN OUTTAKES

Today I have compiled a whole bunch of pictures that would normally not make the cut for posting.  However, each one of them has something interesting about it -- whether it's the composition, or the expression on a face, or it's just plain different.

Fall is the backdrop for all of these shots, so it, too, becomes a character along with the 3-Ds.  And we all know the 3-Ds each possess their own unique character -- to the max!

If I had a finger, I'd give it to you!

Shadow and light; black and white

Two heads are better than one, and four ears are better than two.

Bottom's up!

Sloe-eyed or just plain slow?

My Maine man in the sun!

'Tock to me, boy!

You're getting on my last raw nerve!

I'm at your service, Jedi master!

Fall makes me plush!

It's electric!

Just love that Fall scent!

It's a big leap, but I'll take it!

Clueless!

"Make way for the King, you peon!" says Dante.
"Are you sure? I just peed on it." says Dylan.

Dante suffurs from cowlicks of the butt!

Judge Whappurr post-whap!

Obviously, one whap wasn't enough!

I feels so claws to you!  Really!

Sometimes you just have to take a stand!

TUXY TUESDAY: FALLING WITH DOMINO

It's easy to fall in love with Domino, especially in the Fall.  Milo can vouch for that because he has already fallen hard.

Efurrything seems brighter in the autumn sun.  Colours sparkle and pop.  Blacks and whites are more crisp.  So, Domino with her tuxy coat and dazzling emerald eyes is even more amazing in the Fall (if that's pawsible).

Domino embarks on a tour of the leaf-laden driveway.

Step carefully!  You don't want to squash the leaves.

Domino looks to the right.

And she looks to the left.  Leaves are here, there and efurrywhere!

Domino's on deck, looking lovingly at Mama.  She's a Mama's girl (but Milo's first).

She's a little wistful, though, 'cause the plants are dying.  That's one thing about Fall that isn't so great.

Here's Domino back in her favourite PURRch on the front porch.  You can see more leaves through the armhole of the chair.

And, as if to make a statement, there is a single leaf by Domino's front paw.

Domino's black and white is brilliant in the autumn sunlight.

And her eyes are luminous shades of bright green.

Now that you've witnessed Domino's autumnal glow, have you fallen for her, too?

A 3-D PORTRAIT

Today is Canadian Thanksgiving, so this is our turkey day, and I'll be busy in the kitchen and entertaining family instead of visiting my blogging friends.

However, I prepared this post to show everyone this marvelous birthday gift that I received from my friend, Crazy Cat Lady Carm.  She commissioned a portrait of my 3-D Cats from an artist named Susan Faye.   And here are Domino, Dylan and Dante preserved for PAWSterity!

Note:  Susan Faye is also selling merchandise with this image, as well as many of her other original creations at:  http://www.cafepress.com/susanfaye/7305094

My three darling D’s are so-called because each of their names begins with a “D”, and they are larger than life – 3-D to the max! They are Domino, Dante and Dylan.

The first “D” to cross our doorstep was Domino, a little tuxedo ladycat with the feistiest personality I’d ever encountered. Domino had been abandoned by my son’s roommate, so rather than taking her to the shelter, I told my son to bring her to me. She was ridden with fleas and malnourished and at one year of age had already had a litter of her own. I took her to the vet as soon as possible, and she was ‘fixed’ from head to toe.

Next came Dante, who is a male red classic tabby Maine Coon. My beloved Tommy had just passed away and I wanted another red kitty, so this time I ordered one up from the Lacocoon Cattery in Lacolle, Quebec. Maine Coons are a very gentle breed, and Dante is no different. They are also very large, and Dante lived up to his genetics, reaching a maximum of 21 lbs. of solid muscle and flowing long fur.

Dylan came our way when my brother’s cat unexpectedly had five kittens. After four months, he hadn’t managed to find homes for any of them, so I took Dylan, who is a male cream tabby, and found a home for one of his sisters right next door. Dylan is very much the pesky little brother.

And the hierarchy in our home remains in the same order as their arrivals. Domino’s the boss!

Dante rules Dylan

Domino fearlessly rules Dante!

A rare shot of the 3-D hierarchy from left to right:  Domino, Dante and Dylan.

Long Live the 3-Ds!

DYLAN'S ODE TO FALL!

Dylan really likes Fall quite a lot, so he feels like he owes it something for being so awesome.  Dylan has not been the least bit rattled by all the fallen leaves -- in fact he quite likes them, and as payback, i.e., his IOU-of-sorts, he's taking us on a tour to give Fall it's proper due.

The air is crisp and fresh.  It's not too hot and not too cold.

Everything has a different smell in the Fall.

So Dylan must make sure his scent remains PURRominent.
"I has set a benchmawk fur Fall," says Dylan.

The leaves are so nice and crunchy underfoot.  Extra padding for those delicate toes.

It's easier to spot an evil squirrel in a background of yellow -- see!  Dylan spies one in the leaf-laden garden bed, while another dashes right by.

The grass doesn't grow as much due to the cooler weather.

So there's less interruption by those noisy lawnmowers.  Peace reigns in the neighPURRhood!

(Biggify for best view)
Dylan's Ode to Fall wouldn't be complete without a 'Tock shot, so here it is.  Somehow it seems to be a very apPURRopriate 'ending'!
