3-D FRIDAY FREE-FUR-ALL!

I thought today I would just pick some random pictures of my 3-Ds and their furry FURiends.  Each of the photos has something a little interesting about it, but they were never sufficient for a post all on their own.

Domino's in the foreground with neighbour kitty Figaro on the apPURRoach.

Figaro is kept at bay by Dante's imposing presence, while Dylan calmly looks on.

Dante continues to stand in Figgy's way with a look of exasPURRation on his face.

Finally Figaro!  He's PURRsistent if nothing else.
(I gave him some treats but he sniffed them and walked away!  Fussy Figaro!)

Dylan at the reFUReshment stand.

His paws are covering the birdbath kitty's eyes, as he steals the contents of the basin.

It seems that Dylan's chin went for a dip in the birdbath as well.  Ah -- reFUReshing!

Here's our gray squirrel FURiend.  I thought this picture spoke volumes about how nature and technology are in such close juxtaPAWsition, especially in suburbia.

At first I thought our cute little gray squirrel had a bellybutton, until I looked it up on the internet and realized it's something else altogether!  Let's just say it's a PURRivate part.

Here is Domino, calm, cool, determined and in control while on patrol.

Here is Domino calm, cool, and collected while lounging on the bench.  She dominates her environment whereFUR she may be.

Dante is sniffing out the hiding place of our tiny furry FURiend.

He knows it's in there somewhere.  Come out, come out, whereFUR you are!

In FURustration, boredom or PURRhaps simply fatigue, Dante yawns, displaying his magnificent whiskers in the PURRocess.

And here is the tiny beast who escaped to the safety of our neighbour's tree.  I thought the tree itself had such PURResence in this picture, with all its knots and gnarls.

And finally on this Friday, it's a close-up of our little FURiend, Chippie.

Cheers, eFURRYone!

TUXY TUESDAY WITH DOMINO: SWEET AND SASSY!

... and as sassy as a raspberry!

TUXY TUESDAY: THE TWO SIDES OF DOMINO!

Today I'm going to take off the mask of PURRfection and show the real Domino behind the tuxy suit.  This isn't to say that Domino will be diminished in any way.  To the contrary, you will see her feisty side, as well as her sweet and gentle side. The Domino who rules with an iron paw (and claw), and the Domino who wants to cuddle.

Domino is indeed a study in opposites.

She can be very prim and proPURR ...

... or a slinky, sexy showstopPURR!

Following is a short anecdote which really demonstrates her PURRsonality:
This is Domino in her new "Gold Digger" club dress.  We had just received it in the mail and she tried it on.  Just then the salesman arrived with the contract for our new furnace.  He and my husband went into the dining room to sign the papers.

Domino was staring and staring, as you can see in this picture, and eventually wandered over to check out what was going on.  First she jumped up onto a chair, and then onto the table, and lay down right on top of the contract papers.  The salesman's pen was poised to write, but Domino was smack dab in the way.

Luckily, he was a cat lover, and just laughed and gave her pats.  Domino is not afraid of any stranger, and is very nosy, so she will immediately investigate.  She MUST be the center of attention, and she certainly knows how to grab it.  Attention, that is -- as well as a few other things, as you'll see next ...

Company comes for dinner, and Domino 'sticks' real close.  A little too close for their comfort.  She always extends her claws and gets stuck in people's clothing.  My clothes all have little pinprick holes from where she has attached herself.  Here, my brother, Barry, is trying to extricate himself from her clutches.

Once Domino decides to retract, the situation turns serene and the tuxy diva settles in for some lap time.

Here's another time, where Daddy picked up Domino and really got hooked!

Daddy's trying to avoid her prickly points!

Those toe claws are just poised to latch on!

Also, Domino doesn't take to being posed.  She wants to do it herself.  She's a very independent sort, you know.   My friend Susan is learning what Domino will and won't allow.

And here is Domino as sweet as can be.  Just the picture of PURRfection.  You have to show one side to truly appreciate the other.

Here, Domino is cooPURRating with Dante in the hunt for the chipmunk.  Our front steps have sunk, creating a gap on the porch where the chipmunk is hiding.

In an instant, Domino decides to stake her claim, and Dante gets a whapping!

To sum it all up, Domino is strong and independent, but can be sweet and clingy, also.

Like her tuxy coat, she has two sides -- the black and the white.  The devil and the angel.

It's what you call TUXITUDE!  And Domino has it in spades.

I think the only thing that has saved Milo so far, is that he is a tuxy, too.

MANCAT MONDAY: DYLAN AND DANTE AT WORK ON LAPURR DAY!

It is Labour Day here in Canada and the U.S. (where they spell it 'Labor').  However, for kitty cats that doesn't always mean it's a holiday.

My intrepid mancats, Dylan and Dante have been hard at work, each in their own way.  They're used to pulling their weight around here, anyway, and today is no different.

So, here's what my mancats have been up to on this LaPURR Day.

Dylan has been entertaining Grampa before we have dinner.  Playing with cats always brings a smile to Grampa's face, and Dylan's doing a very good job at that.

Grampa's using the new furry dangle toy that Dylan got for his birthday.

C'mon Grampa!  You have to make it dance!

Even though Grampa's dangling isn't up to scratch, Dylan is!!!

That's better Grampa!  Now you've got the idea.

What a mancat won't do, just to entertain the elderly!

Meanwhile, Dante is outside, hot on the trail of a wild and wily beast.

His 'Spock ears' detect movement close by.

PURRhaps if he lies low, the beastie will show itself.

Aha!  There it be!!!

What beady little eyes it has!  And it's cunning knows no equal.  It's also very fleet of feet and ...

... before Dante can react, it's up the tree!

PURRhaps some bigger prey might be easier to catch, especially when they're not so smart, like this evil squirrel!

Drats!  Foiled again!

Sometimes you can work hard, every day -- and even on LaPURR Day -- but you don't get much reward.  Dante had the thrill of the hunt, but nothing to show for it in the end.

Dylan didn't work nearly as hard, but he made someone smile, and that is worth much more an escapist fantasy (Dante's fantasy is to catch a beast, but it always escapes!).  I guess the quality of your reward depends on what you're really after.

Happy LaPURR Day, efurryone!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DOMINO!

Today is Domino's birthday, though she doesn't want to say which one.  She's at that age where she'd rather keep it a secret -- especially since she's dating a much younger mancat.  Does that make her a cougar, she wonders?  She doesn't really look like a cougar.

In fact, Domino looks remarkably young for her age, and she's in great shape according to the vet.  It must be because she takes such good care of herself.  She must, for her modelling career, after all.

For her birthday, Domino received some wonderful gifts.

First of all, Daddy bought her this marvelous new kitty bed -- in pink (her favourite colour).

Domino has already taken it for a test nap, and she gives it ...

... TWO PAWS UP!!!

Mommy bought Domino a new dress for her birthday.  She gave it to her yesterday so she could get some pictures to post today.

Here she is in her lovely new, very feminine frock.

It has quite a large collar trimmed with lace.

And on the collar, is a beautiful deep pink rose.

As Domino relaxes between takes (Mommy snuck this one in), you can see the dress in its entirety.  The bodice is a pale pink with accents of black on the lace trim at the waist.  The skirt is two-tiered black and white gingham, again trimmed in lace.  You can't get much more girly that this!

Here Domino poses with her Daddy, who is giving her birthday hugs.

Here, the birthday girl looks simply adorable.

But the bestest present of all was Milo!  He came to give her some birthday love in PURRson, before taking her back to Sidmouth with him.  It's his brother Alfie's birthday today, too, and they're all going to celebrate together.

Just click on the link above to visit Alfie and give him birthday wishes and to join the party.

It's also our friend Mommy Cat's 10th birthday today, so please pop over to see her, at Jacqueline's Cat House, by clicking on this following link:

And a big P.S. because we just learned it's Roxy's birthday, too.  Hop on over to The Kitty Krew blog to give her birthday wishes, by clicking on this link:

September 1st must be a very good day for birthdays, because some of the nicest kitties have their birthday today.  We wish them all much happiness, love and contentment -- PURRhaps with a little nip and tuna thrown in for good measure.
