Dante and Dylan are no different. Although they are best friends and buds, there are those times where war breaks out between them. It appears that Dante is always the victor in these confrontations, as these pictures will attest.
PART I: WAR
Note that Dante is in the dominant position, and Dylan in the submissive.
Dylan makes a defensive move, but still from a subordinate position. The look on Dante's face is quite determined.
Here, Dante controls the situation just by the look in his eyes. It's a staredown!
Dylan keeps a very submissive posture in the glare of Dante's gaze.
And lowers his head to King Dante.
Dylan shrinks further and further away ...
... until he concedes defeat and slinks off. The war, for now, is over.
PART II: PEACE
Most of the time, Dante and Dylan live a peaceful co-existence.
They each do their own thing, but they like to be near each other.
Oops! Maybe Dylan got a little too close, there. Those tailwinds can be disconcerting.
Sometimes, the mancats co-operate in checking things out.
And checking each other out.
It's nice to have a sidekick!
Someone who makes you feel comfortable.
And sometimes, gives you a little kiss.
We leave you now on a peaceful note with our mancats blissfully reunited. Without a little war, now and then, how would we even know the real significance of peace?

There's time fur WAR and a time fur PEACE! The GR8 thing about mancats is they quickly transition and never seem to hold a grudge! Ladycats neFUR FURget a spat and there is neFUR any PEACE after WAR!
It's true about mancats and ladycats. :-)
The boys will wrassle in play, for the most part, but sometimes get aggressive. I used to think that Derry lying on his tummy meant submission, but I've read several times in recent months that it's not submission at all, they get on their back so they have all sets of claws available for attack. Makes sense, though I would have thought exposing the underbelly would be dangerous.
Annie, of course, is another matter entirely. 8GR8 is right: females don't forget the spats and there's no peace. LOL. At least not with Ms. Crabby Annie!
Wrasslin' mancats--Lizzie is taking a cold shower!
Happy Mancat Monday, fellas! We love the little kiss at the end!
Such sweet boys...playing and wrestling is a part of life :)
Sure glad they came to an agreement. It is funny how male kitties and young kitties can forgive and forget so quickly. At least they do around here. You two sure are handsome guys that is for sure.
Hope you have a good day.
awwwwwwwww, you guys are cuties even when you are spatting!
Aww, that kiss at the end is so sweet.
Wonderful photos of your beautiful boys...We love the last picture, it's so adorable...Calle is the dominant cat here; she is the biggest cat (C-10 lbs, H-6.4 lbs, S-7.4 lbs.=we went to the vet today) and she does the stare down very well!!...xo...Calle, Halle, Sukki
Wow, it is definitely obvious who is Top Cat with these two! But except for the occasional wrassling session, Dylan seems pretty comfortable playing Robin to Dante's Batman.
Sweet! Glad you boys made up.
That was great to see!! We love a good wrasslin' match too!! But we always seem to make up later and enjoy a good nap together!
Wally & Ernie
Angle and Kirby go through the war/peace cycle every day!
Such gorgeous brothers!
Um...we girls here wrestle up a storm!!
Oh my goodness that little sniff-kiss is just too much! Such sweet mancats.
