The 3-Ds are out and about in their new winter hats and coordinating scarves.  It's been rather cold lately, so they must bundle up to keep warm.

The birds have turned green with envy over Domino's stylish green felt cloche hat with brown satin band and purple feathers.  She has paired it with a Harry Potteresque green striped scarf.

"Ooooooh, Aaaaaaaah!"

Dylan is a real hoot in his striped owl toque and multi-hued neckwarmer.  His owl buddy gives this outfit a very high rating.

"Owlaylooya brothah!"

Dante's out hunting in his new brown leather trapper hat with geometric copper lining and sparkly brown knit scarf.  He has the eyes of a hawk, so his prey should be very wary.

"Peek-a-boo.  I see yoo!"

Dylan's out and about walking in a Winter Wonderland!

"I wondahs wot all dis wite stuff is trooly about!", says he.

Being as nosy as he is, and smelling something diSTINKtly foul, he decides to check out what's going on in our neighbour's driveway.

He can't help but notice strong traces of this odour near where their car is parked.

Instead of turning up his nose at it, he plunges his proboscis deeper into the snow.

And when he finally raises his head, he discovers that the source of the smell comes from the car itself!

On his way home, Dylan starts to think about what he has learned.  He had lots of fun figuring out the mystery smell but also realized it has a down side.

"What exactly DID you learn, Dylan?", I ask.

"Wintah kin be a real gas!!!" declares he.

"It made me wanna take up skiin'!  If I wonts ta get down in a good way, I kin haff fun on da slopes an' get lotsa fresh air at da same time."

Noone (especially not Dylan) can be aghast at that!

Domino always takes a beautiful picture, and normally she is the centerpiece against a more neutral background.

In this case, however, Domino is a standout backdrop to a gorgeous foreground.

She "holds her own" against the colourful red winter berries.

These pictures were taken one mild January day when a lot of the snow had melted.  It has since returned in force (something like Domino herself).

Domino is standing on our next-door neighbour's walkway which she considers to be her own (along with several others in the 'hood).

Although there are no 'ifs or ands' in this case, there certainly is at least one 'butt' -- it's Domino's, of course, as she walks away to continue her winter patrol.

Red really is your colour, Domino!"

The weather has been purrticularly bitter lately, and the 3-Ds have been loathe to go outside.  However, even a few minutes of fresh air is better than none.

Here they are dressed in their best winter wear.

Dylan is all about blending into the stark winter landscape in his grays, whites and blacks.  His warm wool plaid newsboy cap handily covers his ears (even though, they're ears and not hands) and his coordinating sweater coat keeps the blustery blasts of snow at bay.

Domino is wearing a white faux fur trapPURR hat along with her tweed pink and gray wool coat with faux fur hood.  She prefers to wear the hat because the peak turns up so she can see where she's going, whereas the hood always falls down over her pretty eyes.

She's also added a white snowflake brooch to the front of her coat (as if there weren't already enough snowflakes about!).

Dante is wearing a weather-resistant wool flat cap with ear flaps that can be worn up or down.  These flaps conveniently cover the base of his ears and coordinate well with his new gray and red winter wool sweater.

He's nothing if not fashion conscious whatever the season may be.  But then he looks good in absolutely anything!

So take a hint from the 3-Ds and bundle up well before YOU go outside, willya?

This is what it looks like outside our house!

A 3-D WELCOME TO 2015!

The 3-Ds are happy to welcome the year 2015, each in their own way.

Disco Dante is looking forward to many more nights on the dance floor this year.

Dylan's looking forward to many, many more tiny bubbles.

And Domino's looking forward to a model year (including lots and lots of new outfits).

Me and the 3-Ds hope you all have a year full of wonderful surprises, too!
